Fat Fact: There is no 'fat epidemic.'
We eat more healthily than 40 years ago, in 1974, the average Brit consumed 2534 calories per day. In 2012, that figure was 1990, according to research by defra, a fall of 21.5%. And we're getting fewer of those calories from fat, down from111g per day in 1974 to 81g today.
