Here are a few basic strength exercises for anyone starting out running. These should become comfortable before progressing onto more advanced strength training.
LEGS:
Lunges
Squats
Calf raises
HIPS & GLUTES:
Glute bridges

CORE:
Russian twists
Scissor legs
ARMS & BACK:
